Tips to Keep
Your Automobile Secure
#1. When shopping or away from
hone, always park in a well lit, busy area near
your destination
|
 |
#2. Never leave anything in your
vehicle in plain view or in a seat. Even if it
is an empty box or something of no value. It
will cost you money to replace a window if a
thief breaks in just to see what you have. Never
leave a GPS device on your dash. Disconnect it
and take it inside with you or at least put it
in the glove box.
#3. Lock your vehicle every time you leave even
if it is just for a few minutes. Don't hide a
spare key on the vehicle because crooks know the
usual hiding places.
#4. Record serial numbers of your Stereo or CD
equipment and put a small sticker on a window
telling potential thieves that your stuff is
marked. This can make your equipment less
enticing since thieves know it is harder to get
rid of marked equipment.
#5. Put an alarm on your vehicle. While alarms
do not always prevent a break in, they are a
deterrent.
#6. If you are keeping a parcel or purse in your
trunk, out of sight, put it there before you
arrive at your destination. If someone is
watching when you arrive, they will not see you
putting articles into your trunk.
#7. If you have a garage, use it! Park your car
in the garage and lock it up, even though it is
inside.
